The Role of Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B12 in Cardiovascular Health

This Georgetown Dialogue convened leading researchers to review the scientific evidence on the relationship between folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, homocysteine, and heart health. The roundtable discussion concluded with a lively discussion about whether there is sufficient strength of evidence to warrant communicating important information about this relationship to health professionals and consumers.

The deliberations of the experts on the claim that could be made on food labels is captured in this publication. Sixty-seven references are listed. Edited by M. Storey. Please contact us at cfnap@umd.edu to obtain a copy of the conference proceedings.
